Beta. This installer is still being finished and tested. Talk to us at hello@restroai.live before relying on it for a live restaurant — or order a pre-configured till instead, which is ready today.
BYO-PC setup
Set up RosPos AI on your own PC.
Turn a spare PC into a dedicated till or kitchen display — no separate hardware purchase, just a USB drive and about 20 minutes.
Before you start
- This erases everything on the PC's main hard drive. Back up anything you want to keep, or use a spare PC.
- You'll need a blank USB flash drive, 8GB or bigger.
- The PC needs an internet connection (wifi or ethernet) during setup.
1. Download the installer image
From your dashboard's Settings → Get the till app, or request the link at hello@restroai.live.
2. Write it to a USB drive
Use a free tool — Rufus or balenaEtcher on Windows/Linux, balenaEtcher on Mac. This erases the USB drive, not your PC yet.
3. Boot the PC from the USB drive
Restart the PC and press its boot-menu key as it starts (table below) — before Windows or anything else loads.
4. Confirm the erase
The installer asks you to confirm before wiping the drive. This is the point of no return — make sure you're okay losing what's currently on this PC.
5. Wait for it to finish
Everything after that is automatic. Progress text will scroll by — that's normal, it isn't stuck. Needs an internet connection.
6. First boot
The device restarts on its own and boots straight into the till or kitchen display. Log in with your restaurant account and you're done.
